It bags for an It girl - Olivia Palermo

Friday, December 13, 2013

Olivia Palermo is one of my favorite go to's for effortless style. There is something great about a woman or man even, who can put their looks together without even looking like they didn't roll out of bed that way. It is a flawless craft to which I believe Olivia has more than mastered. Apart of what gives her that extra sparkle though is her handbag collection.

It is a mixture of curated pieces from the neatest clutch to the most elaborate handbag. Her simple yet elegant chic cannot be ignored and while I love a great pair of heels or that perfect wide leg pant that she pulls off so well, I cannot deny that it is her handbags that have me pinning for a trip to the nearest high end mall.

A few of my favorite things - Chanel Edition

Monday, December 9, 2013

I will begin this post by stating that Chanel has always and will always be one of my favorite handbag designers. (I am obsessed is more like it!) There is something so pristine about the bags and even when they are unique in design, they still scream classic in every sense of the word. From the quilted stitch to the signature chain strap, Chanel for me, signifies luxury, glamour and class, all wrapped up in the most beautiful piece of arm wear one can find.

So for this holiday season here a few of my favorite Chanel bags of the moment.

Loving the Chanel flap boy bag! I especially love it in this royal blue.

Chanel Evening Bag - This purse is just epic. A great collectors item that you can wear. What could be better?!

One thing I find so special about Chanel is their attention to detail. This Chanel classic flap, embroidered with beading is no different. You just cannot deny the quality and craftsmanship of this bag.

One of the most beautiful bags I ever laid my eyes on! It looks like porcelin and like it is meant to be put in a cabinet and exhibited. The Chanel white lambskin with herringbone quilting is just a gorgeous bag.
Usually when I hear the word felt, I think of my Grandpa's old felt hat with a brown feather sticking out of the side. Not my fondest memory of felt but when I saw this Chanel felt flap bag... everything changed. This color is especially what allowed me to let my felt guard down. Its great for winter for adding a pop of color.

Chanel flap in Jersey interlaced chain and pearls. Punk rock and classic glam come to a head with this flap bag. It is the perfect holiday compliment to add a bit of sparkle or to add a bit of spunk to your outfit.

My heart beats for this cream vanity case! It screams chic and elegance. It just symbolizes what Chanel is all about.

Killer bags

Saturday, December 7, 2013

Sometimes when I'm getting dressed for a night out, I will find myself staring in the mirror thinking...

"This outfit is great, but it needs some edge."

That is when I would turn to what I call the "Killer bag".  A bag that will add that extra umph to my outfit and is laced with hardware like studs, spikes and chains. Not only do these bags spice up any enseble they are designed with intent to look like a weapon of mass fashion appeal. Here are my picks for the perfect killer designer bag.

Alexander Mqueen or the king of the Killer bag.

For an ornate look.

A more simple look.

The perfect punk edge bag with just the right amount of glam.

Burberry

Burberry cross body bag.

 Burberry with studs galore.

Also by Burberry. No words needed.

Christian louboutin. This man makes fashionable art.

I am all about getting clutched up with this one.

The snake texture is just the icing on the cake.

I was definitely Persian in other life, because I LOVE gold and this gold statement piece is my idea of the perfect Killer bag.

The ultimate killer bag holder goes to ....

Lady Gaga with her spiked out Birkin. Now while this was custom, and little bit insane. I am a lover of her pushing the boundaries and if those boundaries are pushed to create such a statement piece... I am all for it!

Be the ultimate fashion killer with a Killer bag this holiday season, maybe you won't get on the nice list but you will be on the best dressed list.

Its all in the details - Sofia Al Asfoor

Friday, December 6, 2013

It seems that at every turn I stumble upon the Shield bag by designer Sofia Al Asfoor. The moment I saw it, I new it would be one of those bags that will forever be burnt in my memory as a classic. Not only are her bags completely different from anything else on the market but they scream detail and precision in every cut and stitch. I decided I should do a little research and found out just how much detail really went into the creation of such a statement piece.

The "Classic" Shield bag

As a creative director, I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into creating what I think is such a beautiful work of art and so I can totally understand why her line of modern, luxury bags can now be seen on just about every socialite and fashion enthusiast. The bags are made from materials ranging from lamb skin to exotic leathers and each cut is done to mathematical precision which makes for a long process time. But hey, who can put a time limit on creating such an amazing bag?

The signature pyramid shape makes the bag perfect for adding a little spunk and edge to any outfit but the shape and quality also makes this line timeless, so not only will you want to rock it, so will your mother and perhaps even your grandmother too! Who doesn't love a bag that can be passed down through generations? I am sure that we will be seeing a lot more amazing pieces from this young and unique designer.
